Vancouver Travel Information

Vancouver is an amazing city. Nestled between the rugged mountains of the west coast and the Atlantic Ocean, Vancouver has the mildest climate in Canada, and as a result, is green all year round.

Surrounded by beautiful scenery, Vancouver has a laid-back feel to it, and offers plenty for the visitor. By the suspension bridge, the rainforest scenery is wonderful, and the Totem Poles of Capilano Park are well worth a visit. Stanley Park is a wonderful sea of green, full of interesting things to do, such as a children’s farmyard, pitch and putt and an aquarium. Visit historic Gastown or the atmospheric Chinatown. For panoramic views of Vancouver, head for the cable car at Grouse Mountain. From the peak, you can see all of Vancouver laid out before you, and for a different dining experience, try out the restaurant in the observatory.

A short trip from Vancouver, you’ll find Vancouver Island, home to Victoria, British Colombia’s capital. Victoria is home to the Royal British Colombia Museum – widely regarded as one of North America’s top 10 museums.

North of Vancouver, you’ll find Whistler. A winter sports paradise, with two mountains bursting with ski runs, and three major glaciers. But Whistler is a summer destination too, with watersports, bungee jumping, horse riding, walking, rafting, jet boating and golfing among the activities on offer.

For those wanting to take home a few souvenirs from Vancouver, or for more serious shopping excursions, Vancouver has a diverse range of stores, boutiques and markets, offering plenty to keep even the most serious shopper busy.
